SimionSchmidt from Permutation

The left-to-right minima stay in place and the other positions take the remaining values, largest first: a 123-avoiding permutation.

Permutation → Permutationidempotent

FindStat's Mp00068, Sage's simion_schmidt(avoid=[1,2,3]). Idempotent; a bijection from the 132-avoiding permutations to the 123-avoiding ones.

Called as CombinatorialMap(x, "SimionSchmidt"). The head's page has its examples.

Properties

Transport a statistic

Pick a statistic on Permutation. Its distribution over the images of Permutation at each size is computed, and compared with the 323 statistics on Permutation: those that share it are the ones the map sends it to, as far as the sizes computed show.

FindStat Mp00068

Simion-Schmidt map

Matched by value: our map agrees with FindStat's image on each of the 873 rows of size at most 6 we can read (0 unread; its table has 1200 rows).

IdempotentGraded mapas FindStat records them, checked by FindStat's contributors.

The Simion-Schmidt map sends any permutation to a 123123-avoiding permutation.
