ToricPromotion from Permutation

Toric promotion of the path graph: swap the values 1 and 2, then 2 and 3, and so on up to n and 1, each swap skipped when the two values sit next to each other.

Permutation → Permutationbijectioninverse

FindStat's Mp00310. Its order is n - 1; the inverse is InverseToricPromotion.

Called as CombinatorialMap(x, "ToricPromotion"). The head's page has its examples.

Properties

Transport a statistic

Pick a statistic on Permutation. Its distribution over the images of Permutation at each size is computed, and compared with the 323 statistics on Permutation: those that share it are the ones the map sends it to, as far as the sizes computed show.

Matched by value: our map agrees with FindStat's image on each of the 873 rows of size at most 6 we can read (0 unread; its table has 1200 rows).

BijectionGraded mapas FindStat records them, checked by FindStat's contributors.
