HoldValues

Generated from the engine's own definition: compute-engine's symbol, which we neither extend nor document by hand. No examples yet — the crosswalk is the reason it has a page.

HoldValues(body): evaluate body with its assigned free symbols shielded — each such symbol becomes a pure symbol (its declared type and in-scope assumptions apply, its assigned value does NOT) for the duration. The value-blind counterpart of evaluating body directly; analogous to Mathematica's Block[{x}, …]. HoldValues(body, [x, y]): shield only the listed symbols (a List, Set, Tuple, or a single symbol); every other symbol resolves normally. Constants (Pi, ExponentialE, …) are never shielded, assumptions survive the shield, and the global values are intact afterwards.
