NumberFrom

Generated from the engine's own definition: compute-engine's symbol, which we neither extend nor document by hand. No examples yet — the crosswalk is the reason it has a page.

NumberFrom(s): the number the string s denotes — optional surrounding whitespace, an optional sign, then ASCII digits with an optional "." fraction and an optional e/E exponent, or one of "oo", "+oo", "-oo", "NaN", "Indeterminate". The integer part may be omitted before a fraction (".5" is 0.5); a trailing "." with no fraction digits ("5.") is not accepted. Any other text, including "", is an error value (never NaN). NumberFrom(s, base): the integer s denotes in base (2 to 36); only integer numerals are accepted.
